Artist's Comments

A logical continuation of [link] and [link]

I did the original sketch ages ago (look at the title, hint hint - thought I'd finish it by then). Only got round to colouring it 3 days ago, stopped liking it half way through the colouring and then it progressed... or rather regressed... to the "oh well, it's half ready so I might as well finish it while I've got time" stage. Hope it didn't turn out to bad tho'. I did the colouring a bit differently and would like to thank the amazing for her great tutorial [link] - a must for every digital painter.

Be honest with you all, I'm getting tired of my own pictures - the poses seem very limited and the characters seem to stare from the screen without much expression. I feel I should try something more complicated. Hmmmm... does it mean I'm evolving? :?

that's pretty :D

sounds like you're doing mostly portraits, since you say they all just stare and stand there ^.^

I really like the trees and the detailly background.

It's beautiful. A bit of a shame of the watermark. I can understand why you're using it, but it does take away from the picture for us casual viewers.
I love that tutorial you mentioned too. Planning to try it out soon. :)

Thank you - yes, I totally agree about the watermark. It does distract you from the picture a lot. But it's just practicality - you never know, one day you think "who's gonna steal my rubbish anyway", the next day you find your art at somebody's myspace...
Yeah, that tut is brilliant! Just like Jenny sensei herself :worship: It kinda makes your hands itch to go and try it for yourself!

thank you  I'm glad you liked it - birches are my favourite trees and I just had to learn how to draw them! I must admit, I like doing backgrounds... and characters... only they sometimes don't go that well together :(

thank you!
I do actually draw mostly portraits... Just cuz I'm no good at drawing anything else, i.e. animals, buildings, etc. I should try and move on to something else...
