Fanart on the Young Wizards fantasy book series by Diane Duane. Here are two of the characters, Roshaun (blonde) and Dairine (red-haired).
I sketched them randomly while reading Wizards at War, then coloured them in. If you think there's too much going on on the bg, that was my original idea ^^
Just in case, Roshaun (the blonde one) is male. In the books it says that he looks like an anime character and you know those bishies are often quite feminine! There's nothing in the books about pointy ears, but since he's from a different planet, I decided to emphasize his alien-ness. I'm quite happy with Dairine - I drew her exactly the way I've always imagined her. Just passing into womanhood but still essentially a child, which makes losing loved ones twice as painful. In the books, these two are not quite sure about their feelings towards each other, and that's what appeals to me. Feelings that are uncertain and hard to pigeonhole.
